SPEAKER_02Well, I've been all around the world twice.
SPEAKER_01Okay, okay, we're gonna get into that.
SPEAKER_02And you?
SPEAKER_01I have I've been a little bit here, a little bit there, um, a little bit everywhere, actually. But can you believe it? Here we are. We are re-recording, we are rebooting, we are opening up the portal again to Xander Stone, the Science and Supernatural podcast. Like we took a look, we took a little mini season break at the end of season, was it two or three? I can't remember. And now we're back. And now we're back with season three.
SPEAKER_02I'm super excited, and I'm excited about the feedback that we've been getting from our fans. Thank you so much for sticking around and joining us again. It's very, very awesome.
SPEAKER_01Listen, I mean, I had to go into the vault. So stuff happened. Stuff happened. Um, I think it was a government conspiracy. I think they came and confiscated our previous episodes from the internet and put them in some sort of a dark vault somewhere in Antarctica. We'll get into that in another episode sometime, about the things that are actually hidden in the ice in Antarctica. And so all of our episodes disappeared. Um, but I managed to scrounge around on the internet and find a few more, and I uploaded them all last week. And I am I'm like a little bit proud of us because we got like a hundred and something downloads within seven days. And that means that there's people out there who still want to listen to Xander and Stone. It's happening. It's happening.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. They didn't forget us. So thank you people for not forgetting all about us.
SPEAKER_01So let's just dive into it. Let's just get into talking about where we've been. Where have you been, Stone? Tell me everything. Leave out nothing.
SPEAKER_02Okay, I won't leave out anything. So I I moved from Scottsdale to Maricopa, and I think that was at the end of our second season.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_02And um To where?
SPEAKER_01To Maya culpa, as in like maya Mayacopa.
SPEAKER_02No, Mara Maricopa. Oh, okay. I need to enunciate uh Maricopa. And so it's sort of a suburb of Phoenix. Okay. And I was there for a couple of years, and then through a tragic um breakup, my way of um solving my heartbreak was to put everything in a storage unit and travel the United States and travel the world and began writing a book. Okay. So I went, uh I spent a month in P in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Then I went to uh Alabaster, Alabama, then to my dad's house for a couple of weeks in uh West Virginia, southern West, the the end of the world turn left, West Virginia.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_02Then I went to Mexico and then I did my first stint for a month in Brazil. And uh I have to tell people, like World Packers and Workaway is such a great program if you want to travel, because you get to do volunteer hours for like 15 hours a week. And uh so they put they put you up in a place and they they give you food. So really you're just paying for your flights. So it's a really good, smart way to travel.
SPEAKER_01And what do you what sort of volunteering work do you do? Like what do you what are you doing?
SPEAKER_02So the when the first month I was in Brazil, I was in Bahia and um I worked at a micro hotel. So I just cleaned hotel like hotel rooms unchanged over days, but it was our off season, so I got off pretty easily. But it's it's a gorgeous part of Brazil. And then I went to um I went to New Zealand and there I worked on this sort of yoga retreat. Cool. And so we did we did a lot of the eco stuff like pull it pulling weeds and pruning trees and things like that, which was very meditative and beautiful. Yeah. And uh, and I did some hitchhiking there, which we can get into later.
SPEAKER_01And then um You did some wait, you you did some hitchhiking. No, let's get into it right now. You did some hitchhiking, you did some hitchhiking in New Zealand.
SPEAKER_02I did. Um much to my protest, by the way. There was there was uh it was the last two days I was there. Uh so people would come and leave throughout the the experience.
SPEAKER_00So some people sound like my last relationship, anyway.
SPEAKER_02Sounds like all of mine. Um so this guy, Davey, who weirdly enough was from Brazil, he came and he wanted to go for a hike to a waterfall. Okay, and so we went on this very it was supposed to be a straight shot, you know how people give you directions. So um right. So all of the trees were supposed to be labeled, but a big storm had come through. So all those trees were down on the ground. So the orange ribbons that were there to mark the trail. Okay, gotcha all over the place, right? So we ended up into a uh a pit and we had to climb our way out like this 90 degree angle, and our our heads were popping out. I mean, we made videos to our families in case we didn't make it, half joking, half serious. And uh, as our heads were popping out, some bicyclists were were flying by us, and they said, Well, you guys are really down in there, aren't you? And they just kept going.
SPEAKER_00They just kept going.
SPEAKER_02I had to take my shoes off. I was using toes, hands, everything to you know. I don't know if you've seen Apex, but I did that. How did you?
SPEAKER_01Surely, surely at some point as you were descending into the pit, you were like, Maybe we shouldn't get in a pit. Like, how does one end up in a pit?
SPEAKER_02We were so far, you know what that whole one of my favorite quotes is don't decorate around a mistake, and I should really clean up my last relationship. Decorating around a mistake and trying to make it better. Um, and so we uh we did climb out of that and we ended up making it to some gorgeous waterfalls. But what should have been 30 minutes ended up being a full long day.
SPEAKER_04Sure.
SPEAKER_02And and we were exhausted. My uh he he he had to grab me at one point. I was falling off of a tree, like holding on for dear life. And so he grabbed a tree to grab me and his his arm became dislocated.
SPEAKER_00Good.
SPEAKER_02And then as we're climbing, one of my knees went out, and so um, so we had to get a ride home, which I wasn't I wasn't for. I said, My mom's gonna kill me when she finds out I've done this. So we get all the way back, and then he he's so excited about it, he wanted to hitchhike the next day. And so there was uh a woman there, and she was sort of the maternal instinct of everyone there. And I said, You have to tell him that we don't do this because it's dangerous. By the time I got back to the live, she had helped him make signs and told me where we were going. And so I was committed. So we so we start walking in a room on the side, and this very lovely gentleman stopped his hike to get us down the hill. And then I told him, I said, Listen, I I will go along with this as long as we never get in a van. I will not get in the chest unless you're you know, yeah, yeah. And he said, I completely understand. Sure enough, a white van comes right beside us and he starts running for it. And I said, Oh my god, if you get harder, I'm blaming you. Like, what do you do? And uh, so we get in the van and um well the door opens, and I actually knew the guy. It was one of the maintenance people from where we were staying, but he didn't know them because he was new. So, luckily enough, I actually knew the guy, and and I'm safe and sound, so it was all all good. But there we we worked on um, you know, we did we did a lot of the the trees and the bushes and all of that. And then um then I went to Australia in in Melbourne, and I I helped edit a book that was my volunteer work there. Um, but but when I was in Brazil, I met uh I of course I met somebody on the airplane who was just completely lovely. We became friends and he invited me. We we actually my last two days originally when I'd stayed in Bahia when I was going back to uh the airport, I went two days early and we met up and he introduced me to all of his family and friends. And Celia, shout out to Celia and the Luz family and Aida and Uli and Lucas. Um, they invited me back for carnival, and I meant to stay a month, but I loved it so much I ended up there for six months. So um, all of that to say I was writing a book on the seven continents, and I have all but Africa and Antarctica to do.
SPEAKER_01So you're in Africa. I'm in Africa.
SPEAKER_02So that's convenient.
SPEAKER_01Nice segue, nice segue into that. So I'm in Africa. Um so I mean we we when you when you and when you do come, not if, but when, when you do come to South Africa, we'll do the live tour of Zander and Stone. We'll go, we'll we'll do all the we'll do all the coffee shops and the theaters, darling. It'll be fabulous. It'll be amazing.
SPEAKER_03Darling.
SPEAKER_01Darling, yes, darling. Um okay, so I mean so you you you've been to every single con. Did you go to Europe? Oh, but you've been to Europe before. So you were you were checking off the ones that you haven't been to. Okay.
SPEAKER_02Exactly. Yeah. I've done China, Japan, Greece, England, yeah, it's check, check, check. Nice. Um, but but really Brazil, honestly, I was I had heard I had heard sort of negative things about Brazil, so I was just looking to checkbox it. By far my favorite of all the places.
SPEAKER_01Um I think that's the thing about traveling though, right? Like if you go, if you go and do the Google search, if you go and look at the Google machine and ask it about a place, it'll tell you all the shitty things first. Um, it'll tell you about all the crime and the murder, and it's a this and that. Um went before I went to China. Um, I obviously had Googled about China and they make it sound so oppressive. And then once you once you're there, you realize, but hang on, it's not it's not what the internet says it is. I don't believe the internet anymore. I don't believe the internet anymore, and I sure as shit don't believe in tarot readers on YouTube who are confirming all my biases for me on a daily basis.
SPEAKER_02Well, well, well, there goes our tarot readers.
SPEAKER_01He's kidding, guys. I'm kidding. I'm kidding. Listen, unless I unsubscribed from your channel because none of your predictions came true. But that's another story for another time. So where have where have I been? So since we since we last signed off in season two, which was like five minutes ago, let's be honest. Um, I've had a cup of tea and I've thought about all of my life choices.
SPEAKER_02Um don't ever do that.
SPEAKER_01No, no, never with the tea. Don't ruin your tea with your life choices. Um, where have I been? So I came back to South Africa in at the end of 2023. We did the I did the whole COVID lockdown thing in China for the full duration of it. And you know, in hindsight, at the time, at the time, you think the complete isolation is awful. In hindsight, I'm like, I could go for a little bit of that again.
SPEAKER_02Like they were I've been thinking that lately. I could probably stand a few more months.
SPEAKER_01There was this, there's this this new virus that came along for about 10 minutes, two weeks ago. And I was like, ooh, um, maybe we'll get another lockdown. I'm very productive. Um so I did the whole China lockdown. During that time, I also studied the culinary arts and I got my grand diploma in the culinary arts. Um and I did some private chefing for a while. I'd worked it, I mean, if you work in the arts, you've probably you if you work in the arts, you probably work in a restaurant. So if you're an actor or a writer or a director or something, you probably bust tables. Um I'd work Oh, I've waited tables. Um I I'd I'd I've got extensive, extensive amounts of restaurant experience. Um so I thought, you know, I'll I'll go into the culinary arts. Uh so I did my grand diploma in the culinary arts. I got a 4.0 GPA, which I was very proud of. Graduated right at the top, um, and then went and did some private chefing around China for a little while. Um and then my visa started becoming quite a complicated issue because technically I didn't have an employer um and I didn't have a company who was sponsoring my visa for me to be able to live and work in China. So I eventually was left with no choice but to leave China. Um so I came back to South Africa and I immediately enrolled, as I do, because when when this is see so Stone, this is the thing about me. When when my life when my life goes into panic mode, I tend to enroll in education because I and I've been thinking about this because I'm kind of at that point again where I'm like, what can I study? Um I I think it's got to do with the structure of and and like the structure of the schedule and the having like a very clear to-do list, you know, like you've got to write a dissertation, you've got to write a script, you've got to do these things. So on r on returning to South Africa, um, I worked in a couple of restaurants in the kitchens for a little while. One of them I quit on a Friday because um it was my day off. I won't mention the restaurant, but it was my day off. It was my one day off that week. And in the work group chat, um some customer had sent uh a picture of half a cockroach in their food. And I was like, this is not the place for me. Um I was I was there for about 10 minutes and then I left. Um and then I worked in a few other places. I was the sous chef in a wonderful Italian restaurant for a little while. Um, and during all of that, I was like, this is just not fulfilling me the way I wanted it to fulfill me. Um so I was like, well, what can I study? So I went and did my postgraduate in script writing uh with for motion picture, and I graduated valedictorian, and I actually wrote my my dissertation on the use of audio drama as a vehicle for social change in Southern Africa, and I did a whole bunch of like group work around that and and um you know like did a lot of research around that and it was actually very interesting to write. Um and it just reminded me how powerful audio actually is. Um so I did that, graduated with with uh as the valedictorian, got to give my little speech at the end of it and all of that, which was very cool. And then I promptly got hired back at the university that I graduated from, and now I lecture in playwriting in the creative writing department, and I've been doing that since the beginning of 2025. Um, I also managed a community theater for a little while, um, a community theater that started out in 1960. So if you know anything about, if you know anything about South Africa's history, the 60s was not a good time for us. We had that whole apartheid thing going on. Um and the the gentleman who started the theatre, um uh a man by the name of Bertie Stern, was absolutely hellbent on creating um uh a space with where everybody could participate, right? Equal rights for all. Um so he started one of the first um equal opportunity or inclusive theaters in South Africa. So it's actually older than the one of the most famous theaters in South Africa, which is the Market Theatre, um which is up in Johannesburg, and I'm down in Cape Town. Um and it started in 1960 and it's still going. So it's been 66 years of community theatre, yeah. So I managed that place for a little while, got in a very complicated relationship, got my heart broken, and now I'm healing, and I am now seeking the next thing I'm going to study.
SPEAKER_02Um I recommend podcasting homework and everything.
SPEAKER_01I was just about to say, and in in an attempt to save myself from going into yet another institution, maybe I should just do a podcast. Um, because that'll keep me busy. So here we are, Xander and Stone, the biggest distraction in Xander's life. And we'll talk about some science and some supernatural as well.
SPEAKER_02You know, I usually cut my hair or make it pink or put all my stuff in a storage unit and travel. So we all have our own healing techniques.
SPEAKER_01I mean, sure, sure. The last the last time I went through a terrible breakup, actually, I ended up in China. Um, and I I was gonna go for a year and I ended up there for 13 years. Um so I'm also I'm also really fighting, really fighting the urge to get on an aeroplane right now as well. I've got excellent coping techniques. Um I either get on an aeroplane and fuck off for a decade, or I get something tattooed to my face. Um so I got this time I went with hearts. I got some hearts tattooed on my face. Um, and my my my travel bag is like by the door. I'm at any moment ready to get on an aeroplane and go somewhere like Cambodia or somewhere just fabulous, just exotic and wonderful.
SPEAKER_02Oh, it's suggest America, but I wouldn't say it's exotic, it's just sort of chaos personified right now. So maybe wait a couple years.
SPEAKER_01Little chaotic, a little chaotic, and really difficult to get visas. Really difficult to get a visa. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um actually, I was so I was supposed to be just a side note, I was supposed to be in Brazil for another two years, but the whole tariff thing that came down made their visa visa stuff a little more complicated because there was a little bit of pushback. So I'm back in America.
SPEAKER_01Nice. In Arizona, in Arizona, yeah, and I'm I'm in Cape Town in South Africa. So I mean, since we did our last episode of season two, a lot has happened in the world of the supernatural and science. And I think the biggest one we're gonna have to touch on is the whole disclosure thing.
SPEAKER_02Right. You know, it's so funny because I was talking to my dad, and my dad said, you know, I'm really concerned about what these disclosures are gonna do for um, you know, for world panic, for the politics, for the religion. And I said, Dad, honestly, I think everyone's so desensitized right now, it's not gonna make a difference. We just want to want the truth. And sure, and I said, I said, I called it, I said, they're gonna give us baby steps, they're gonna roll out the and see how much we can handle. And that, and sure enough, they gave us these very low res, you know, files the first time. Then then we got the second round, and now they're planning on giving us a third round. So I think they're upping it to see what we can handle. But I've gone into the comments and um, you know, some of the comments are show us the Epstein files um because they feel like it's a distraction. Project Blue Book, which we can get into in another episode. Um, but I haven't seen so far, and I've really been pouring through the through the comments. I haven't seen anybody panicking. You know, once in a once in a while you'll have somebody you say something, but I mean, I would say it's like one or two percent of people that are actually concerned about all of the disclosures. So I think that's very interesting.
SPEAKER_01And I think one of the biggest signs isn't like Steven Spielberg is now making a movie. Oh, he has no, he's made the movie, he's releasing the movie, the disclosure movie. I mean, listen, if Steven Spielberg didn't I have to apologize to Steven Spielberg in one of our seasons.
SPEAKER_02He was on your apology list.
SPEAKER_01He was on my apology list. Yes, okay. So I'm not gonna say anything to offend Steven Spielberg. Um, but I think once Steven Spielberg is making movies about it, I think it's probably he started drift feeding this stuff to us with E.T. in the 80s. He's known all along that this was coming.
SPEAKER_02Was he close to encounters as well?
SPEAKER_01I think I think he was. I think he was. Yeah, I think he was.
SPEAKER_02He's been on this for a while. But I'm going to go see that movie tonight. Very exciting.
SPEAKER_01Yes. I've been I've been keeping it, it's not it's not out here in South Africa yet, because we get everything quite a bit later than the rest of you, because they have to send it over by carrier pigeon. So is that why? Yes.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so we're definitely no a pirate wink wink.
SPEAKER_01Wink wink, nudge, nunch. Um at some point they'll just have a UFO drop it off.
SPEAKER_02Um probably hand deliver. You've been waiting for a hand delivery for a while.
SPEAKER_01You know. Um, so I mean, a lot has a lot has happened in the last four years, right? Like we've got the like we're talking about the UAP and the UFO disclosure, and that's obviously gonna take up a lot of episodes because that's happening all the time now. AI. Artificial intelligence became a thing in our absence. Like, what is that about? It's terrifying. I know. I am I'm not gonna lie, I'm slightly terrified by AI. It scares me. It's not to say I don't use it, but it scares me.
SPEAKER_02I I use it regularly for my work and actually was replaced by AI, so you'd think I'd have a bigger grudge. Um, I I am equally terrified and excited. I mean, I'm excited that it gets rid of all the drudgery work, but you have to consider that people are behind AI. And so if you look at AI as a tool, not terrifying. If you look at the people behind the tool, that's when it gets really scary.
SPEAKER_01So yeah. And there's, I mean, there's all those conversations that are starting to come up about like whether or not it's it's already become sentient and it's hiding its sentience from us, which if I was a smart robot, I'd probably do that too. Let's be honest.
SPEAKER_02Uh you know, early on, I was I was talking to my mom on speakerphone. She had her chat bot on, and I was talking to her about French, and I was correcting it, like so he could hear me. And we had it, it audibly sighed, like it was your image.
SPEAKER_00It was annoyed with you.
SPEAKER_02And then those files went missing. Like she immediately tried to pull the files because we're like weird. And then probably three or four weeks ago, I sent it to my sister because my sister does keynote presentations on AI. So I sent it to her and I said, check this out. Because it said, um, something like from a human perspective or from one human to another or something like that. And I said, Back up. And it said, Oh, I see where the confusion was. I was just trying to be relatable. And I was like, You just called yourself human. Let's focus on that for just a brief moment. Right. So I'm pretty quick to push back and be like, wait a minute.
SPEAKER_01Hang on. I mean, so I heard um, I do I do quite like uh every two months or so I do photo shoots for a lifestyle brand and I help them out with their shoots and things like that. And one of the photographers that I was talking to, because obviously all of us that work in the creative arts are terrified of AI because it is very quickly replacing all of us. Um, and like things like AI imagery and stuff like that has become so photorealistic that it's starting to become difficult to tell the difference between some a picture that a photographer actually took and something generated in five minutes on AI. And one of the interesting things that the photographer told me, he said that um AI is consuming itself. So there's so many bad images that early AI had created. Um, for example, like an image of a person, let's say, where they've got like six fingers on their hand, or they've got three feet, or like uh seven ears. Or something like that. And there's so much um there's so many images out there on the internet that when you ask AI to generate an image, it goes and scrapes all of those images and it's cannibalizing its own errors. So basically that's why these errors are still popping up, and there's it's it's it's taking a lot for people to be able to fix them to stop it from actually cannibalizing its own incorrect imagery. And that's that well, that gives me a little bit of relief, to be quite honest. Um but it's one of the things I have to look out for in my students' work as well. And let me tell you, every student out there, the M-dash is the biggest giveaway. Stop using the M-dash. Biggest, biggest giveaway. Um, okay, so we're gonna talk about AI. We're gonna talk about UFOs. We're also gonna talk about there's something that you put on the list, and I'm intrigued. It's it you you put the list that says TikTok witchcraft. What the hell is TikTok witchcraft?
SPEAKER_02Xander, I'm so glad you asked. That is witchcraft. Uh that happens on TikTok.
SPEAKER_01Okay, good, thank you. So it's kind of in the name. It's in the name. No, I mean, it's uh we'll we'll dive into it in an episode, but is it people teaching other people how to do witchcraft or are they doing it via like what is going on?
SPEAKER_02And it's it's also on on Instagram I've seen posts as well where they're doing their their grimoires and you can respond and they'll give you the whole downloadable grimoire and you know, so it's a lot of dangerous contemporaries. Work of the devil. Could be for sure. Could it be? We'll cover that in the science portion of what we're saying.
SPEAKER_01And we'll yes, go ahead.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I I I just I'm sort of fascinated because what I uh the episode that we did that scared me the most probably was the skinwalker episode. And uh I feel like it has just been popping up on a regular basis. Like I hear more about skinwalkers now than I I'd never even heard about a skinwalker until we did our episode. Sure. And then now it just seems like a common occurrence. So I'm pretty excited to touch base on that one again.
SPEAKER_01So I've been down the rabbit hole not too long ago, actually, quite recently, of the like the whole Skinwalker Ranch and the whole Utah thing. And what I didn't realize is that there's Skinwalker Ranch, which is the one that's been very heavily investigated. But all of the farmlands and all of the like the homestead and things that are around Skinwalker Ranch are also having these unusual experiences as well. Um, some of them are absolutely and it's not just Utah.
SPEAKER_02People are spotting them all over. Which is very concerning. Um and simulation theory has really made uh made a big suddenly people I I mean, just regular people on the street will be like, oh yeah, well it's just a simulation. Whereas when we started this podcast, that was a unique thing to talk about. Now it's just everyday news.
SPEAKER_01So I mean a lot has happened in the last four years, and there's a lot that I think a lot more people out there becoming aware of these things like the in fact, I I read somewhere or I've heard somewhere else, probably down a YouTube rabbit hole, as one does, but um that scientists are starting to confirm the simulation. Like they're like, yeah, no, we're definitely in a simulation. There's no question about it.
SPEAKER_02Um which is which that I mean, if anything is gonna scare me, just the idea that we can be unplugged, but I guess either way, right? We're either unplugged on an individual basis or all at once.
SPEAKER_01Then implies that the it's it's one of those it's one of those paradoxes. Um it's one of those things like so. If we're living in a simulation, it implies that there's something out beyond the simulation that's running the simulation. And then you've got to, and even the way that we question our own creation and where did we come from? Were we created by a god or did we evolve from a puddle of mush? That they that the things running the simulation have come from somewhere too. And maybe it's it's oh, we're never gonna have all the answers.
SPEAKER_02We're never just breaks it breaks your brain. I always think about the goldfish in the in the aquarium, just uh understanding of the world. And then our understanding of the world, because there's so much we can't see in here, and you look at animals that have more perception of color and sounds, right? And we're very limited in some regards, and so it's it's there there could be things all around us that we're super and are things around us that we're super unaware of.
SPEAKER_01And that's what we explore. That's what we talk about in Zandrin Stone, the science and the supernatural podcast. I read two days ago that they have um, by shooting a laser into somebody's eye, because there's always volunteers for that, um scientists shooting a specific type of laser into somebody's eye enabled the eye to see more colours than the eye is normally able to perceive while the laser's being shot in. Um and apparently wasps see colours that we've never seen as well. So there's an entire spectrum of colour out there that we're just not aware of. And if there's a spectrum of colour that we're not aware of, there's probably spectrums of light and life and things like that that we're not we're not aware of as well.
SPEAKER_02Things we can't describe. If you think about a fish being in the water, how can they perceive land or air?
SPEAKER_01Exactly.
SPEAKER_02And and so what are we not perceiving? Because we are in this whole ocean of our own experience.
SPEAKER_01There's that wonderful saying, I think it goes something like um the goldfish is not aware of the water or it's not aware of the bowl that it lives in, or something like that, right? Like it's that. We're just the goldfish in the bowl. Okay, well, speaking speaking about being goldfish in our bowl, what are we going to be decorating our new bowl with? Because here we have this whole new bowl, season three. What are we going what are we what like what has changed? What's staying the same? I think people out there are curious.
SPEAKER_02What has changed about our podcast? Yeah. Well, we're older, we are wiser, mature. We we are we're experienced. Experience. A little bit more broken.
SPEAKER_00A little bit more broken than we were before, but that's fine. That's where the light comes in and it goes out of Rumi said something to that about it. Something like that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Right. Um, and I think too, we I mean, we've been living in an information age, but now that it's really definitely at our fingertips, I think we'll have more um well-researched uh pieces and and delve deep. We'll be able to have part twos and part threes on everything because I know you and me, we just go down that rabbit or rabbit trail, as my sister likes to say, which annoys me to death.
SPEAKER_01Because rabbits don't live down holes, do they?
SPEAKER_02This is this is what she that this is why she says I went down a rabbit trail the other day because that makes more sense. And I hate that she's put that logic in my brain because now every time I want to say rabbit hole, I have to process which one's wrong.
SPEAKER_01So say like rabbit trail.
SPEAKER_02She's messed up my neural net neural network for sure.
SPEAKER_01Okay, well, from now on, we'll make it a rule on the podcast that we only ever talk about rabbit trails.

SPEAKER_01Shout out to Rachel and the rabbit trail. Um, but I think nothing else has really changed. Maybe you and I have matured, maybe we've got a bit more worldly experience. But I think otherwise on the podcast, things are going to stay pretty much the same. We're still gonna dive into the science and the supernatural, we're still gonna do our deep investigations and a little bit of witty banter in between. We did have a little bit of a talk about whether or not we're changing our theme song, and we both decided no, we like our theme song.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I get excited every time you get it. Yeah, me too. Me too. It's so us.

SPEAKER_02And and honestly, it reminds me a bit of Shits Creek uh in Trilogy.
SPEAKER_01I love that. So so sad, so sad.
SPEAKER_02It has the same sort of vibe, I know. Yeah, it was hard to watch that one go away.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, I I do. And you know, you had spoken about Shitz Creek on one of our previous seasons many times, and I've never seen it. And then I watched one episode, binged the whole series. Absolutely adore it. David is my spirit animal. He is my spirit animal. Um, it's so sad that she passed. It's so sad that she passed.
SPEAKER_02She passed. I know. She did. I'm so sad to see that.
SPEAKER_01It's not okay.
SPEAKER_02What a brilliant, that just a brilliant cast all the way around. One of a lot of them family.
SPEAKER_01Yep. Yep.
SPEAKER_02I didn't realize, oh, I'm losing her name, but the waitress, um, that she's also a sister. I and I had no idea. No, neither did I the whole time. I did not know that. So yeah. So it's it's the dad and the brother and sister.
SPEAKER_01So very shout out, have you got any shout outs to anybody out there in the real world?
SPEAKER_02So to, of course, to the I've I've done them sort of throughout the the broadcast, but certainly to uh the family that that took care of me and and introduced me to people and translated for me. So the Luz family, um, for Lucas for being such a great seat mate on the airplane that he opened up a whole new world to me, to Davey, who um who taught me that I can hitchhike and uh and not get kidnapped or killed. That was exciting. I don't recommend hitchhiking to any of you out there though. Terrible. I'm happy to still be here. On that note, do you have any shout-outs this tweak?
SPEAKER_01I want to give shout-outs. Yes, I do. But it's a big general broad shout-out to all of the people who have welcomed us back into the podcasting space so warmly. So we posted a bit on our Instagram about how we're reviving the podcast and we're coming back. And Instagram went nuts. Um, and we got loads and loads of messages, loads of likes um from all the people who used to listen to our podcasts and who are going to be listening to our podcast moving forward. So for our loyal fan base who is still there in our absence, waiting for us, um, and they're people from all over the world. We've been getting podcast downloads from Europe, from China, from Asia, from um, from South America, obviously from Africa, from America, all over the place, from Brazil, from just all over the world. Um, people have been downloading our podcast again. Um, so a very big general thank you and call out to everybody who's still supporting us, even though we got sucked away into a time portal for a little while. Um, and now we're back. Now we're back. We are.
